After eight years of having designed and developed the Genetic Improvement Program in the historical Pilagá Ranch's herd, we are proud to introduce our new unit: “Pilagá Genetics”. Here you will find the ranch's elite represented by the most important Herd Sires born and raised during recent years in our breeding herds.
These outstanding Herd Sires are the outcome of two working pillars: a careful and rigorous selection of Donor Cows from the Pilagá's renowned breeding herds, and a solid embryo transfer program. All this is compounded with the value added by the specialized work of our people.
As a result, we currently have a group of Herd Sires which seamlessly meet the needs of different breeders and cattlemen, since they clearly sum up our selection criteria based on Fertility, Functionality, Structural Correctness, Carcass Conformation and Breed Purity, attributes present in the Pilagá Biotype.
This genetics enabled us to achieve the highest awards at cattle shows and competitions and to enhance the value of the breeding animals we showcase at different commercial events of the ranch. Likewise, genetics is the tool used by Capil S.A.'s partner companies for the large-scale production of high quality beef which is becoming increasingly recognized by the markets.
